World Boxing Championships: India's female boxer Jasmine Lamboria has won the gold medal in the 57 kg category at the World Boxing Championship 2025 being held in Liverpool. Jasmine faced Poland's boxer Julia Sremeta in the final match, whom she succeeded in defeating. This is the first gold medal for India in the World Championship so far. Something similar was seen in the first round of the gold medal match, in which Jasmine Lamboria appeared to be under a bit of pressure, but in the second round she made a comeback and won the match by a split decision in which she won by a margin of 4-1. After winning the gold medal, Jasmine said in her interview to Olympics.com that I cannot describe this feeling, I am very happy to be the world champion. After being eliminated early in Paris 2024, I improved my technique physically and mentally. This is the result of a year of constant hard work. Jasmine Lamboria's performance in the Paris Olympics was very disappointing and in which she was eliminated very early.

Pooja Rani had to be satisfied with the bronze medal, Nupur won the silver

Apart from Pooja Rani, Indian boxer Pooja Rani, who was participating in the women's 80 kg category in the World Championship, had to face defeat in the semi-final match, due to which she had to be satisfied with the bronze medal. At the same time, Nupur won the silver medal in the 80 kg category.
