Cyclone Ditwah: 3 dead in Tamil Nadu... Ditwah's devastation intensifies, red alert issued
Cyclone Ditwah is approaching the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and southern Andhra Pradesh. A red alert has been issued for heavy rains. The rains have disrupted life in many coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Earlier, Ditwah wreaked havoc on the east coast of Sri Lanka, killing over 150 people.
Amid heavy rains, strong winds, and rough seas, authorities have issued a widespread alert.

Ditwah's devastation intensifies
Currently, the storm remains as a cyclonic storm and there are no signs of further strengthening. A red alert has been issued in four districts of Tamil Nadu and an orange alert in five districts. The storm is causing heavy rainfall in many areas.
According to the IMD, Ditwa will pass very close to the coast, crossing at a distance of 50 kilometers on Sunday morning and 25 kilometers by Sunday evening.
Air Force Airlifts Over 300 NDRF Personnel to Sri Lanka
The Indian Air Force stated that it has launched domestic support operations in Sri Lanka, along with relief operations, with a C-17 aircraft transporting NDRF teams and supplies from Pune and Vadodara to Chennai. This airlift enabled the rapid transportation of over 300 personnel and approximately 35 tons of essential supplies for Cyclone Ditwa preparations.
Cyclone Ditwah devastation: 3 dead, 149 cattle killed, 57,000 hectares of crops destroyed
Three people have died so far in Tamil Nadu due to rain-related incidents caused by Cyclone Ditwah. State Revenue and Disaster Management Minister K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran announced this on Sunday. The minister stated that 149 cattle have died in the delta districts so far, and approximately 57,000 hectares of agricultural land have been affected. He added that three people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents since yesterday evening. Two people died due to wall collapses, one in Thoothukudi and one in Thanjavur. A 20-year-old man died due to electrocution in Mayiladuthurai.

NDRF relief and rescue operations resumed this morning to help people stranded in Sri Lanka under India's 'Operation Sagar Bandhu'. Teams are continuously engaged in relief work in the Kochchikade area of Sri Lanka, affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Orange alert issued for five districts of Andhra Pradesh amid Cyclone Ditwah
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for five districts of Andhra Pradesh: Chittoor, Tirupati, Nellore, Prakasham, and Bapatla, in the wake of Cyclone Ditwah.
