Why Tilak Verma was retired out, Hardik Pandya revealed the truth
Tilak Verma made a brilliant comeback against Royal Challengers Bangalore. In this match, he played an innings of 56 runs in just 29 balls at a strike rate of 193 and turned the tables. While chasing 222 runs, he turned the match in favour of Mumbai Indians who were already out of the match. However, he got out in the 18th over and Mumbai lost the match by 12 runs.
But he showed his strength
However, in the last match itself, questions were raised on his ability due to his slow innings. He was even retired out in the middle of the match, after which he was embarrassed. After his explosive innings, Hardik Pandya broke his silence on the controversy of retiring him out in the last match.

Why was Tilak retired out?
Tilak Verma took revenge for the humiliation of being retired out in the end due to a slow innings against Lucknow Super Giants. He answered all the critics with his bat at Wankhede. At the same time, the team captain Hardik Pandya has responded to the controversy after he was retired out.
After the match against Bangalore, he revealed that Tilak was playing with a finger injury in the last match.
Hardik said, "Tilak batted brilliantly today. He performed brilliantly today. A lot happened in the last match. People said a lot about him, but people do not know that he was injured very badly on the previous day of the match. It was a tactical decision. Because of his finger, the coach felt that it would be better if a new player comes and hits big shots."

Tilak played a slow innings
Tilak Verma batted poorly in the match against Lucknow Super Giants. He was desperate to score every single run. His every attempt to win the match by hitting fours and sixes was failing. While chasing 204 runs, he could score only 25 runs in 23 balls. That is why he was retired out in the 19th over. After the defeat against Lucknow, the head coach of Mumbai Indians himself revealed that the decision to retire Tilak Verma and call him back was his own.
Why he was retired out in the 19th over
According to him, this was done as a part of a strategy. He called Tilak Verma back after looking at the situation of the match. He said that just like in a football match, the manager brings his substitute player on the field at the last moment, similarly he tried to do a new experiment in cricket as well. However, the result was not in his favour.
