Al-Qaeda terror module mastermind arrested in Gujarat, this was the entire plan to spread terror

Al-Qaeda terror module mastermind arrested in Gujarat

Gujarat ATS has achieved a big success in the Al Qaeda terror module case. ATS has arrested the mastermind of the module. Earlier, ATS had arrested four accused while exposing a big social media module linked to Al-Qaeda's Indian unit AQIS (Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent). Two terrorists have been arrested from Gujarat, one from Noida and another from Delhi. Gujarat ATS has exposed a big terrorist conspiracy in time. All the terrorists caught were conspiring to spread violence in India in the name of 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' ideology through social media platforms like Instagram.

Terrorists caught were conspiring to spread violence in India

On June 10, 2025, Gujarat ATS Deputy SP Harsh Upadhyay received intelligence information that anti-national and provocative things were being spread through some Instagram accounts. Terrorist content, videos and ideology of AQIS were being shared from these accounts. The purpose of which was to provoke the Muslim youth of the country, take them on the path of terrorism and promote violence against the Indian government and democratic institutions.

Action of four ATS teams in four states

Based on intelligence, Gujarat ATS immediately formed a special investigation team. Which was monitored by SP K. Siddharth. In the investigation, these operators of social media accounts were identified.

• Fardeen Sheikh (Fatehwadi, Ahmedabad)
• Saifullah Qureshi (Modasa, Gujarat)
• Mohammad Faiq (Chandni Chowk, Delhi)
• Zeeshan Ali (Noida, Uttar Pradesh)

Four ATS teams were sent to Delhi, Noida, Modasa and Ahmedabad. With the help of Delhi Special Cell, UP ATS and Delhi-UP Police, the four accused were arrested on 21 and 22 July and brought to the Gujarat ATS office.

What was found in the investigation?

Literature promoting 'jihad' of AQIS and a sword were recovered from Fardeen Sheikh. A video has been found from his mobile, in which he is waving a sword and saying "Only this was missing, now everything is complete... Allahu Akbar!" Provocative videos, jihadi content, messages related to Ghazwa-e-Hind, content inciting violence against infidels and posts in support of Sharia law have been found from the mobile and Instagram accounts of all four. All of them were spreading the ideology of AQIS on social media in connivance with each other and inciting the youth. Faiq was also in contact with Pakistan's Instagram accounts @gujjar_sab.111 and M Salauddin Siddiqui 1360.

Investigation of 62 social media accounts continues

After questioning all the accused, ATS has started investigating 25 more suspicious Instagram accounts. Data related to a total of 62 accounts is also being scrutinized. A case has been registered against all under sections of UAPA and IPC. ATS Gujarat has registered a case against the four accused under sections 13, 18, 38, 39 of UAPA and sections 113, 152, 196, 61 of IPC. All four have also got 14 days police remand from the court and interrogation is going on.
