CR Patil Chairs Key Review Meeting on Jal Jeevan Mission Progress Across States

A virtual meeting was held to review the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, with discussions focused on progress made by various states in providing tap water connections to rural households.
Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil chaired the meeting, which was attended by ministers and senior officials of the PHED and Panchayati Raj departments of several state governments.

This meeting was chaired by Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the work being done under the Jal Jeevan Mission in various states.
The meeting reviewed the progress of tap water connections and the implementation of schemes aimed at ensuring safe drinking water supply to rural households.

The Jal Jeevan Mission aims to ensure tap water supply to every rural household in the country. The scheme was launched on August 15, 2019 by the Government of India.
The mission seeks to provide safe and adequate drinking water supply of 55 litres per capita per day through household tap connections. It is implemented under the Ministry of Jal Shakti and focuses on expanding water infrastructure and ensuring reliable supply in rural areas.
The programme is now moving forward with a focus on ensuring uninterrupted water supply under the next phase of the mission.
