Another Naxalites attack in Bijapur, 2 police personnel injured in IED blast

Bijapur IED Naxals Blast: Two policemen were injured on Sunday (January 12) in an IED blast carried out by Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. It is being told that both the jawans injured in this IED blast were posted in Kutru police station. Both are being treated in the hospital. Bijapur police gave information and said that this incident happened when the jawans were doing area domination duty today. The injured are being treated in Bijapur District Hospital. However, the injured jawans is out of danger.

Search operation to catch the Naxalites

An officer said that the IED blast took place at 5 pm in the forest of Jagur village near Jangla when the District Reserve Guard and the soldiers of Kutru police station were conducting a search operation for the criminals. He said that a search operation is being conducted by the security forces to catch the Naxalites involved in the incident.

5 Naxalites including two women killed in Bijapur

 Earlier, on Sunday (January 12) itself, 5 Naxalites including two women were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Bastar Range IG Sundarraj P. said that the encounter started in the morning in the forest of Bandepada-Koranjed, when a joint team of security personnel went out on an anti-Naxal operation. Giving information, he further said, "The bodies of five Naxalites including two women wearing uniforms were recovered from the spot. We have recovered one SLR, one rifle, two single shot rifles, one barrel grenade launcher (BGL), one muzzle loading gun and a huge cache of explosives.'

On 6 January, 8 jawans were martyred in an IED blast

On 6 January this year, Naxalites had targeted a convoy of security forces in Bijapur district and carried out an IED blast, in which 8 jawans were martyred. Apart from 8 jawans of Dantewada DRG, one driver also lost his life.
