Canada Deputy PM Resigns:  The Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned on Monday (December 16), saying that she is no longer in agreement with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the best path for Canada. Chrystia Freeland has been resigned amid growing tensions with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau over the threat posed by Donald Trump.

Even though Chrystia Freeland is also the Finance Minister of Canada. She resigned just hours before presenting the economic update in Parliament. She had been serving as Finance Minister since August 2020. Freeland said in a letter to Trudeau, "For the past few weeks, you and I have been confused about the best path for Canada.

Trudeau did not want Freeland to remain Finance Minister

In her letter, Chrystia Freeland   wrote, that you no longer want me to work as your finance minister. After consideration, I have come to a conclusion that, only honest and viable path for me is to resign from Canada government Cabinet.

Freeland's resignation comes soon after reports that Canadian Housing Minister Sean Fraser is resigning from the Cabinet.

Trudeau is preparing to reshuffle his Cabinet

A report in a newspaper of Canada, also said that Trudeau is preparing to reshuffle his Cabinet due to the departure of many people in the last few months. Fraser is one of the most high-profile people and was seen as a rising star in the party.

There was a conflict between Trudeau and Freeland regarding this matter

According to a local media report, said that there was a conflict between Freeland and Justin Trudeau over the government's proposal of temporary tax exemption and other expenditure measures.  In making your decision, you made clear that you no longer have that confidence, and I no longer have the authority that comes with it.
