Haryana Govt Urges Staff to Learn AI Skills for Better Governance
Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi urges officials to adopt AI training via iGOT Karmayogi to improve governance and digital efficiency.
In a push to modernise governance through technology, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has called on senior officials across departments, institutions, boards, corporations and universities to encourage government staff to build skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) using the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
The initiative is part of the state government’s broader plan to create a more agile, efficient and citizen-focused administrative system by strengthening digital capabilities among its workforce, The Times of India reported.
The iGOT Karmayogi portal, developed under Mission Karmayogi, provides free, self-paced and certified courses on AI designed specifically for public sector employees. Officials can complete these programmes at their convenience without affecting their daily responsibilities.
The Haryana Institute of Public Administration has been supporting the effort by emphasising the growing role of AI in policymaking and service delivery.
Employees can choose from a range of curated courses, from basic AI concepts to advanced applications in governance. These include modules on generative AI for public administration, digital transformation in sectors like urban development, rural governance and education, as well as tools such as Microsoft Copilot. The courses are offered in collaboration with organisations such as Karmayogi Bharat, the National e-Governance Division, Wadhwani Foundation, Microsoft and Invest India.
Officials have been encouraged to sign up on the platform and take advantage of these learning opportunities to enhance their skills and contribute to a more digitally empowered governance framework.
