According to an estimate, every year about 45 crore people lose more than 20 thousand crores rupees by getting trapped in these online money games. Central government has brought this bill to prevent financial and social losses to people due to online gaming. Its name is Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025. Government sources said that according to an estimate, due to these games, common people suffer a loss of about Rs 20,000 crore every year. Hundreds of families have been ruined financially due to this addiction. Many even take serious steps like suicide and violence. 3 major parts of the online gaming bill E-sports: Through this bill, e-sports is being given legal recognition for the first time. Till now there is no legal basis for online sports games in the country. Online social games: The government has proposed to give legal recognition to online social games. These games are used for the education of common people. Online money games: There is a proposal to ban such online games in which money transactions take place. There are also provisions for strict action against the companies promoting these games and providing such gaming services. What will be the punishment for breaking the rules? Those providing online money gaming services can be jailed for up to three years or fined up to Rs 1 crore. Those advertising online money games can be jailed for up to two years or fined up to Rs 50 lakh.
