He stated that while Animal was harshly criticized, Ranbir received only praise. “People who slammed the film still said, ‘But Ranbir was brilliant!’ I’m not jealous of him, but why the double standards? It’s clear they want to work with him,” Vanga remarked.

Comparing ‘Animal’ to ‘Kabir Singh’

Vanga further compared this reaction to Kabir Singh (2019), another film he directed. He pointed out that, unlike Animal, Kabir Singh’s lead actor Shahid Kapoor also faced criticism alongside the movie. A viral Reddit thread supported his statement, with a user commenting, “When Kabir Singh was released, Shahid faced equal backlash. But with Animal, only Vanga got hate, while Ranbir was praised. This shows how much support Ranbir has.” However, not everyone sympathized with Vanga. Some critics accused him of playing the victim, with comments like, “I’ve seen sore losers, but he is a sore winner.
