24-year-old Vignesh Puthur is from Malappuram, Kerala. He made a lot of headlines by bowling brilliantly in his IPL debut match. Puthur started his cricketing career at the age of just 11. His father Sunil Kumar is an auto driver, while his mother K.P. Bindu is a housewife. His bowling action is a bit unconventional, which has helped him rise in the cricket ranks.

MI sent him to South Africa for SA20

Vignesh Puthur has not yet played domestic cricket for the Kerala cricket team. Also, he is not a part of the senior team. He was part of the Alleppey Ripples team in the inaugural season of the Kerala Cricket League and in this match, he caught the attention of Mumbai Indians scouts by taking two wickets, after which MI added him to the team at a base price of 30 lakhs.
