Anti-rape bill Bengal: The West Bengal government has taken a big step after the incident of rape and murder of a female doctor in the government RG Kar Hospital and Medical College in Kolkata. On the second day of the special session of the Assembly, In the meanwhile  the Bengal government introduced the anti-rape amendment bill. After discussion, the bill has been passed by the Assembly.

Provide justice to victims in quick and strict manner

The objective of this bill is to provide justice to the victims and quick and strict punishment to the rape convicts.The West Bengal government introduced the anti-rape Aparajita Bill in the House on the second day of the special session of the Assembly. However BJP MLAs also supported the bill. The bill was passed after discussion. The bill provides for death penalty to the rapists within 10 days. They named it, Aparajita Women and Child Law and Amendment Bill 2024.

Bill has sent to the Governor of Bengal

The MLAs of the main opposition BJP in the state also supported this bill. Now the bill will be sent to the Governor.

 

 

CM Mamata said fighting to save the rights of women

In the Assembly, CM Banerjee said, want to thank all my brothers and sisters This is a matter of repeating history and fighting to save the rights of women

Salute to all who raised their voice

CM Mamata Banerjee further said that 43 years ago on this day in 1981, the United Nations formed a committee for the 'Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women' to protect the rights of women. She said that we will form a special Aparajita Task Force from among the police so that the investigation should be completed in fixed time.
