BPS Hindu temple in California desecrated, India condemns, demands action

BPS Hindu Temple:  The temple of Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) located in Chino Hills, California, USA has been vandalized by unknown people. Which has exposed the increasing violence against Hindus and has raised many questions on the American police failing to protect the temples. This incident reflects the increasing violence against Hindus in America and raises questions on the security system of the police. Hindu organizations have condemned this incident and demanded a thorough investigation.

Vandalism of BAPS temple in Chino Hills

Regarding the vandalism in BAPS, 'BAPS Public Affairs' told on the social media platform X, "Another temple has been desecrated. This time the incident has happened in Chino Hills in California. The Hindu community stands firmly against hatred.

Reaction of the Government of India

The Government of India has also openly opposed this attack on the temple. The Ministry of External Affairs on Sunday strongly condemned this 'hateful act'. In an official statement, the ministry has called upon local law enforcement officials to take strict action against those responsible for these acts and ensure adequate security of places of worship.

Demanded investigation

The Coalition of Hindus of North America, an organization working for Hinduism in North America, has drawn attention to such incidents that have happened before and has demanded a thorough investigation.

The organization said on 'X', "Another Hindu temple was vandalized, this time the prestigious BAPS temple in Chino Hills, California. Will the media and academics still say that there is no hatred towards Hindus and 'Hinduphobia' is just a figment of our imagination."

The organization made public the names of 10 temples and claimed that there have been incidents of vandalism or desecration in them in the last few years.

Temples have been attacked before as well

This is not the first incident. In September, the BAPS Hindu temple in Sacramento, California was desecrated, and slogans were written on the wall saying, 'Hindus go back!'. The investigation has not yet revealed who is the accused in this.

Summary

About 10 days before the Sacramento incident, another BAPS Shri Swaminarayan temple in Melville, New York was desecrated and hate messages were written.
