IPL 2025: Shreyas Iyer, who won the Champions Trophy for India while batting at number four, is now eyeing number three. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer wants to bat at number three in IPL 2025. This is considered to be his long-term plan. Shreyas is not a part of India's T20 team right now. He wants to make a comeback in Team India by performing well at number three in the IPL. Virat Kohli's place was fixed at number three in India's T20 team till the World Cup 2024. After Kohli's retirement, experiments are going on at this number and many players have been tried.
Shreyas Iyer said, 'This time I am clear about my number in the batting order and as long as I get the support of the coach, I will focus on that number.' Coach Ricky Ponting was also with Iyer during this conversation. Ponting said, 'I was desperate to work with Shreyas again. We had a very good relationship in Delhi for a long time. He is one of the best players I have worked with.'
