J&K Tragedy: Army vehicle falls into 350 feet gorge in Poonch, Killed 5 soldiers; many injured

J&K Tragedy: A tragic accident has been taken place in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening. Here soldier’s vehicle fell into a deep gorge.  This incident took place in Balnoi area of ​​​​Mendhar region. According to army officials, the military vehicle of 11 MLI unit going from Neelam headquarters to Balnoi Ghora post crashed as soon as it reached Ghora post.

The vehicle fell into a 300-350 feet deep gorge, causing chaos on the spot.

Rescue operation and treatment of injured soldiers

As soon as the accident was reported, the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) of 11 MLI immediately reached the spot and started the rescue operation. Meanwhile the injured soldiers were taken out of the gorge and taken to the nearby hospital. 5 soldiers were martyred during treatment, while the treatment of other injured soldiers is going on.

How the incident happens

There were 8 to 9 soldiers in this vehicle. After the accident, the Army's White Knight Corps tweeted and gave information and expressed deep condolences to the martyred soldiers. The White Knight Corps wrote, "All ranks of #WhiteKnightCorps salute the 5 brave soldiers who were martyred in a vehicle accident during operational duty in Poonch sector. The injured soldiers are undergoing treatment."

Such incidents have happened before in Jammu and Kashmir as well. On November 4, an army vehicle crashed in Kalakot area of ​​Rajouri district, in which Naik Badri Lal died, and Sepoy Jai Prakash was injured. Apart from this, on November 2, a woman, her 10-month-old son and another person died after a private car fell into a ditch in Reasi district.
