Jammu and Kashmir: More than 100 people were evacuated to safer places after heavy rains caused flash floods in a village in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Three people have lost their lives. Property of some families has also been damaged. Officials gave this information. Officials said that despite cloudburst and continuous rain, policemen reached the spot and rescued more than 100 stranded villagers. He said that many vehicles were washed away due to the overflowing of a reservoir. A traffic department spokesman said that due to landslides, mudslides and stone falls at several places between Nashri and Banihal, vehicular movement on both sides of Jammu-Srinagar national highway has been stopped. He said that rain is continuing and the people have been advised not to travel on the main road.
