Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh Initiative for People’s Safety in GBN, Security Inspections in Over 400 Societies
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh ordered a three-day campaign—held from April 5 to April 7—to comprehensively inspect the security arrangements in housing societies of Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh has issued directives for a special three-day inspection campaign—running from April 5 to April 7—to assess the security protocols within these societies. Following the completion of this campaign across three designated zones, a comprehensive report will be submitted to the Police Commissioner shortly. Gautam Buddha Nagar is home to over 400 high-rise housing societies, where the responsibility for everything—from security personnel and equipment to overall safety management—is entrusted to Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and Apartment Owners
Associations (AOAs). Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh stated that these inspections will be conducted in close coordination with the respective RWAs and AOAs.
Phase One: The Initial Inspection
The first phase of the inspection will focus on verifying whether background checks and verification processes have been completed for all society staff—ranging from security guards to other support personnel. Inspectors will check whether the names, addresses, and mobile numbers of all visitors and residents are being duly recorded and securely maintained in either physical registers or digital applications. Furthermore, the condition, placement, maintenance, and overall quality of security assets and infrastructure will be assessed.
Is it mandatory for residents and those in charge to adhere to essential basic standards, or do these regulations exist merely on paper?
How effective are the security arrangements during the night hours?
What specific security management protocols are in place for the interior and perimeter areas of the society? If any deficiencies are identified during these inspections, strict action will be initiated against those responsible.
Summary
This extensive drive involved verifying the credentials of security guards, scrutinizing visitor records, assessing the condition of security infrastructure, and evaluating the efficacy of night-time security protocols.
