Who Prepared Rajasthan Budget 2026? Meet the 5 Key Finance Officers

Five Finance Department officers led the preparation of Rajasthan Budget 2026-27, to be presented by Diya Kumari in the Assembly at 11 am.

Jaipur: Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari will present the Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 in the state Assembly on Wednesday at 11 am. The budget draft was finalised on Tuesday after nearly six months of preparation.

Five senior officials of the Finance Department played a key role in preparing the budget. The team worked on proposals, revenue projections and expenditure demands received from various departments before finalising the draft.

For three of the five officers, this was their first experience of handling the state budget process.

Vaibhav Galaria

Principal Finance Secretary Vaibhav Galaria led the budget exercise for the first time. The draft was prepared under his supervision and major provisions were finalised during the process.

Tina Soni

Finance Secretary in charge of Expenditure, Tina Soni, also handled her first budget. She reviewed expenditure proposals and assessed which demands could be accommodated.

Rajan Vishal

Finance Secretary in charge of Budget, Rajan Vishal, participated in the process for the first time. He analysed and examined the proposed budgetary provisions.

Kumar Pal Gautam

Finance Secretary in charge of Revenue, Kumar Pal Gautam, handled his second budget. He assessed revenue prospects from taxes, duties and cesses and helped frame revenue projections.

Brijesh Kishore Sharma

Finance Director Brijesh Kishore Sharma worked on his sixth budget. He examined financial management requirements, including revenue and debt, and contributed to shaping the final provisions.

Assembly Schedule

After the budget presentation at 11 am, the Business Advisory Committee will meet to decide the schedule for discussion in the House.

The budget will be debated for three days. The government will reply on the fourth day. Discussions on demands for grants will continue for eight more days. The budget is expected to be passed on the ninth day. The session is scheduled to continue on February 27 and 28.
