Amidst Donald Trump's tariff war on Indian goods, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Thursday that adopting Swadeshi and self-reliance is the only way forward.

Mohan Bhagwat: In his address from the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on the occasion of Vijayadashami, Mohan Bhagwat said that in an interconnected world, India's dependence on trading partners should not turn into helplessness and the country should focus on indigenous production.

Mohan Bhagwat said, "Our country is showing enthusiasm among young entrepreneurs because of the need for economic progress. America may have adopted tariff policies for their benefit.

Dependence should not turn into helplessness

The world's life runs on interdependence. A single nation cannot live in isolation. This interdependence should not become a compulsion. We must adopt indigenous and self-reliance. There is no alternative to this."

"In our neighboring country..."

The RSS chief further said that the impact of Trump's tariffs affects us all. To prevent interdependence from becoming a compulsion, we must use indigenous methods. Our neighboring countries are experiencing turmoil. Their instability is a matter of concern for us.

Mohan Bhagwat further said that fortunately, there is hope in India as our younger generation is becoming attracted to patriotism. America's life is considered developed, and if we lived like that, we would need five Earths. The world is chasing money and work.

Mohan Bhagwat further said, "Man is the one who creates the system. Systems will function as society is. There must be a change in the conduct of society. Society has to adapt itself to new behavior and stand up; this is a prerequisite for change. We must live by exemplifying that change."

'Country you want...'

Mohan Bhagwat said that the Sangh has experienced that individual change leads to societal change, and societal change leads to system change. Only then can change be brought about in the world. Change cannot happen without changing habits. You have to become the country you want. The Sangh's shakha is a system for changing habits.

He further said that the Sangh was tempted and even invited to enter politics, but it refused. Volunteers have been coming to the shakha for 50 years and still do, because habits should not be broken. This builds personality and patriotism. For this, unity in the country is essential.
