The main accused, civic volunteer Sanjay Rai, was arrested the next day of the incident. He was seen entering the seminar hall in the CCTV footage. His headphones were also found from the spot. The CBI has said in the chargesheet that Sanjay Rai is the main accused.

Others involved in the crime are roaming freely

However, the victim's parents have told the court that more than one person may be involved in this incident. They alleged that the investigation is half-hearted as other people involved in the crime are roaming freely. The central investigation agency has demanded death penalty for the main accused Sanjay Rai. He also told the court that Roy is the only culprit of this crime.

Victim's father raised questions
