While the election for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Delhi Municipal Corporation was held on Thursday. A total of 265 votes were cast for the post of mayor, out of which 2 votes were declared invalid while out of 263 votes, AAP candidate Mahesh Khinchi got 133 votes and BJP candidate Kishan Lal got 130 votes The current mayor was asked to remain in office till the new mayor was elected.
