Champions Trophy 2025: Security personnel have arrested an armed suspect outside the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium amid the ongoing Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan. According to information, acting on the basis of intelligence inputs, law enforcement agencies (LEA) arrested a suspect near Faizabad, about a kilometer from the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday afternoon. The arrest comes amid tightening of security measures in Rawalpindi due to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with authorities on high alert to prevent any security breach.

After the arrest, the suspect was taken to the police station for further investigation.

Security officials handling the case confirmed that the jacket has been handed over to the Civil Defence Department for investigation. According to the news agency, during interrogation, the suspect claimed that the jacket was a self-made bulletproof jacket, which he allegedly used for personal protection from his enemies. However, police officials are continuing their investigation to ascertain any possible links to criminal activities or security threats.
