After the resignation of Dhananjay Munde, a post was vacant in the cabinet which has now been handed over to Chhagan Bhujbal. Chhagan Bhujbal has got the opportunity to become a minister again.

Did not get a place in the cabinet in 2024

He is considered a big face of the OBC community in politics. Chhagan has also been the former Deputy Chief Minister and Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra. In December 2024, he did not get a place in the Fadnavis cabinet, over which he expressed displeasure. However, after Dhananjay Munde's resignation, he has now been taken back in the cabinet.

Senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal was also a minister in the previous Mahayuti government. Bhujbal, who is considered one of the strong leaders of NCP, was considered certain to become a minister in the new government, but this did not happen. The 77-year-old strong leader had openly expressed his displeasure over this and also targeted Ajit Pawar. Chhagan Bhujbal is an MLA from Yevla assembly seat of Nashik district.

Chhagan Bhujbal has been included in the Devendra Fadnavis cabinet in place of Dhananjay Munde. It is worth noting here that Dhananjay Munde had resigned from the ministerial post in March citing health reasons. He had the responsibility of the Food and Supply Department. The pressure on Dhananjay Munde to resign had increased after the name of one of his associates came up in the case of murder of a sarpanch in Beed.
