Fraud Perpetrated Under the Pretext of Jobs on Cruise Ships; 6 Accused Arrested by Noida Police

The police from Sector-113 Police Station in Noida have busted a gang involved in defrauding individuals under the false promise of securing them jobs on cruise ships and abroad. The police conducted a raid at Anthurium Business Park in Sector-73 and arrested six accused individuals. The accused used to solicit between ₹40,000 and ₹60,000 from people by running fraudulent advertisements on social media.
The police station in Sector-113, Noida, has busted a gang involved in defrauding people under the pretext of securing jobs on cruise ships and abroad. The police have arrested six young men and women in connection with this case. According to the police, the accused lured people with job offers via social media and extorted money from them. Mobile phones, laptops, computer systems, and several forged documents were also recovered from the gang's possession.
Running Fraudulent Ads on Social Media
Police investigations revealed that the accused ran fake paid advertisements on social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram under the banner "WE ARE HIRING." Through these advertisements, people were enticed with promises of jobs on cruise ships and in foreign countries. Job aspirants were first required to fill out an online form, through which their complete personal details were collected.
Extorting ₹40,000 to ₹60,000
The accused extorted amounts ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 from applicants. After receiving the money, they would send a fake joining letter to the applicants via email. Subsequently, the accused would cease all contact with the victims, at which point the victims would realize they had been defrauded.
Police Raid at Anthurium Business Park
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Anthurium Business Park, located in Sector-73. From this location, the police arrested six accused individuals. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sarim Khan, Shoaib Khan, Ritika, Mantasa Abbasi, Fatima, and Khushi (alias Khushboo).
Recovery of Various Electronic Items and DocumentsThe police recovered several items from the possession of the accused, including 7 mobile phones, 1 laptop, 5 monitors, 5 keyboards, 5 CPUs, 4 mice, 1 router, 2 official stamps, 2 chequebooks, 2 SIM cards, 1 ATM card, and various documents. During interrogation, the main accused—Sarim Khan and Shoaib Khan—revealed that they had run advertisements on social media under the name "M/S Recruite Service." Currently, the police have arrested all the accused and are engaged in further legal proceedings.
