Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel 150th birth anniversary:  The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid floral tribute to India's first Home Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat on Friday, marking his 150th birth anniversary. Cultural programs and a National Unity Day parade are being organized this year. Since Modi first became Prime Minister in 2014, Patel's birth anniversary has been celebrated as National Unity Day every year on October 31st. He then proceeded to a nearby venue, where he administered the "Pledge of Unity" to those present.

Parade

This year's National Unity Day celebrations will feature a cultural festival and a National Unity Day Parade organized by the police and paramilitary forces, which will be the main attraction. It includes contingents from paramilitary forces such as the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and various state police forces. This year, the event is even more special as the National Unity Day Parade is being organized on the lines of the Republic Day Parade.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi shared a social media post on Sardar Patel's birth anniversary. He wrote, "India pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary.
