He told that along with Vivekanand Marg, Tughlaq Lane is also written on the name plate. If you search on Google, Vivekanand Marg comes up. He said that I have been the mayor for 11 years. I know that changing the name is the work of the city and state government. No MP can change the name. If someone proposes to change the name, then it is welcome.

How the name of roads is changed

A proposal regarding naming a road or place in Delhi is sent to the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). This proposal can be given by the Ministry of External Affairs, NGO or local people. This committee looks after the work of changing or naming the name. Finally, when a proposal is approved, its information is given to the Postmaster General of NDMC.

There is a guideline of the Home Ministry regarding changing the name of a road or place. It is necessary to follow it. For example, to give a new name to a road or place, the sentiments of the local people have to be taken care of.
