Parliament Budget Session: The deadlock over former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane's Naravane Memoir continues during the ongoing budget session of the Lok Sabha. As soon as the Question Hour began, opposition MPs rushed into the well of the House and created a huge uproar. Due to the commotion, the Question Hour could not proceed, and the proceedings had to be adjourned until 12 noon.
Papers thrown towards the Speaker's chair in Lok Sabha
In the Lok Sabha, the presiding officer prevented Rahul Gandhi from speaking and called out the names of the next speakers. MPs from the SP, TMC, and other opposition parties also refused to speak. A huge uproar ensued. Opposition MPs, protesting in support of Rahul Gandhi, came into the well of the House and threw papers towards the Speaker's chair. Due to the massive uproar, the House proceedings could not continue, and the presiding officer, Krishna Prasad Tenneti, announced the adjournment of the House proceedings until 3 pm.
Speaker prevents Rahul Gandhi from speaking, calls out names of next speakers
Rahul Gandhi has again raised the issue of the Naravane Memoir. Rahul Gandhi said, "Why am I not being allowed to speak? I am the leader of the opposition, I should be allowed to speak." He said that if there is an objection to the article, then he will not speak. Rahul Gandhi mentioned China and said that Indian soldiers were killed in Eastern Ladakh. On this, Tenneti from the Speaker's chair called out the name of Naresh Uttam Patel. Now, Tenneti from the Speaker's chair is calling out the names of the next speakers one by one.
Opposition protests against US deal
Opposition MPs protested against the deal with the US on Tuesday in the Parliament House complex. After the Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned, opposition MPs came out, while Congress Rajya Sabha MPs staged a walkout.
