Waqf Act 2025: President Droupadi Murmu signs Waqf Amendment bill into law
Name of the Waqf Act 1995 has also been changed to Unified Waqf Management Empowerment Efficiency and Development (Umeed) Act 1995.
Waqf Act 2025: The Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 has now become a law. The bill passed by both the Houses of Parliament after two days of marathon debate was approved by President Draupadi Murmu late on Saturday night. According to a PTI report, the government said in a notification. The following Act of Parliament has received the assent of the President on 5 April 2025 and is published for general information.
